3 Reasons Why I Need the Kindle

Every once in a while, I get an urge to purchase a new gadget. While I still need a new coffee maker, there is something that should really come first. I need the Kindle. Let me explain…
I love to read, I always have. I remember reading two or three books before deciding on one to write my book report on while I was in school. I know, I’m a nerd. Nonetheless, I have always enjoyed reading and I am interested in a wide variety of books. From business to crafting, from parenting to cooking, and everything in between. I even have a few of those xxx For Dummies books!
But here’s my problem: I DON”T HAVE ANY MORE ROOM FOR BOOKS!
I know, I really should get rid of some of the ones I have that I don’t read anymore. But I just can’t part with books that I’ve spent good money on. Plus, I never know when I’ll want to read it again and I really don’t want to get rid of any of my business books. They have all sorts of notes and tabs throughout. Even though some are out of date, they are always a good reference tool.
Between all the books and the magazines that I have, I can’t bring another book into this house. That’s why the Kindle would be ideal. It’s small, lightweight, compact and can store many books at one time.
As most of you know, I have two small children, and most of my reading is done while they are sleeping or when I have a few minutes alone in the restroom. Gross, I know. But since most of my readers are moms, I KNOW you can relate.
The second reason I need the Kindle, is the book downloads are less expensive than the printed books. If I were to buy all the books I wanted, I could easily justify the cost of Kindle in the savings alone. I did a quick search of 5 books I really want and the average cost of getting the actual books was around $90. The cost to download them on the Kindle was less than $60. See, that’s like taking $30 off the cost of the Kindle right off the bat! Well, sort of…
And lastly, the third reason I need the Kindle is to be able to read newspapers from across the world – rather than my small local newspaper. I need to exercise my mind and find challenging and thought provoking content. No disrespect to my local newspaper, but they are no match for the New York Times!
So there you have it, 3 reasons I need the Kindle! Can you think of anymore reasons? If you have a Kindle, would love to hear from you!
