OK, so I was “tagged” by my friend Heather who has a very cool website for the holidays www.toptenchristmasblog.com. The website has great ideas to help get you in the holiday spirit, plus resources and fun stuff.
As part of Heather’s initial dose of fun, she thought it would be neat to remind us that there is only a month until the big day. Well, now there’s even less…UGH I feel the pressure! Nonetheless, here are the answers to my questions for her Christmas meme. There’s more info at the end on how you can participate!
- Have you started your Christmas shopping? Yes
- Tell me about one of your special traditions. My husband is part Dutch, and they have this wonderful tradition with a visit from St. Nick on 12/5. The kids put their shoes out and they get a treat the next morning. This is a very new tradition we’ve started since we had our first daughter last year. Now we have another daughter and we’re looking forward to sharing the tradition with her next weekend.
- When do you put up your Tree? Usually the first weekend in December, but I don’t know about this year. It’s difficult with two little ones!
- Are you a Black Friday shopper? NO! Once you work retail and you have to work on Black Friday, you don’t want to participate.
- Do you Travel at Christmas or Stay home? Stay home, but we usually visit my in-laws who live in Phoenix around the New Year holiday.
- What is your funniest Christmas memory? My mom buys gifts early, then hides them all around the house. One year, I knew one of my stocking stuffers was supposed to be Love’s Baby Soft perfume. When I didn’t get it, I asked her about it. Long story short, she couldn’t find it – she hid it very well! The hilarious thing is she still hasn’t found it!
- What is your favorite Christmas Movie of All time? I don’t have just one, but I love Miracle on 34th Street and The Santa Clause.
- Do you do your own Christmas Baking, what’s your favorite treat? I don’t bake very often, but I like to make Peanut Butter Kiss cookies.
- Fake or Real Tree? Fake
- What day (as a Mom) does the actual panic set in to get it all done? NOW!
- Are you still wrapping presents on Christmas Eve? Usually not, and I hope not this year either!
- What is your favorite family fun time at Christmas? Christmas morning, while we are opening gifts
- What Christmas craft do you like the best? I enjoy so many of them, but I can’t wait to make Christmas ornaments with my girls!
- Christmas music. Yes or No, and if yes What is your favorite song? Yes, and one of my favorite songs is, “Dreaming of a white Christmas”.
- When do you plan to finish all your shopping? Hopefully no later than 12/15/09.
