Woo Hoo – down another 1.2 pounds!

OK, here’s the deal:
1. Sorry from being absent on Twitter lately. I will be back this week.
2. I have exactly 20 weeks to lose 50 pounds – that’s my goal.

Why 50 pounds, why in only 20 weeks? My 20 year class reunion!

Many of use have been reconnecting on Facebook and we’re planning a small reunion this year. The planning got started a little late so we’re going to do what we can and knock it out of the park for our 25 year reunion.

Now, to be honest, I’ve always been overweight. So, it’s not going to be a surprise to anyone that I still am. BUT, this is for me to feel better about myself for the reunion. So that I will look nice in whatever dress I choose. This is for me, no one else. (Well, other than my girls of course, but that’s a different motivation.)

So, my plans are simple: Eat less, move more.

The weather is getting a little nicer (even though it’s still windy). So I might be able to get out of the house for a walk with the girls. Otherwise, it’s all about the exercise DVD’s. But, I need to find some different ones for variety – I get bored easily.

So, I will be scouring the internet for some crazy deals. I still want a Wii, but that’s a purchase that’s going to have to wait for a while. If you all see a crazy good deal, let me know here, or on twitter. (@ivettemuller01)

  • 50lbs in 20 weeks seems ambitious - it's doable if you workout at a hard intensity and start doing 2 a day workouts - 1 in the am and one in the evening. Are you eating 6 small meals/day? That will also help. Good luck and keep up the good work!

    Congrats on your weight loss. Make sure that you are transitioning into a healthy lifestyle so that your weight loss is healthy and permanent.
  • WooHoo on 1.2# down! That's awesome! I like Billy Blanks TaeBo DVD's. And, Tracey Mallet's DVD's look good. I'm using Netflix to try out different ones.

    Moving, moving, moving... Excellent goal! :)

  • I hate to rain on your parade, but your goal is a bit unhealthy. It's okay to lose anywhere from .5 to 2 lbs. per week, but anything over that becomes a bit unhealthy. The problem comes when you lose that fast, your body has a big problem equalizing and maintaining. If it was me, I would reevaluate the goal and make it more 20-25lbs. That way you have a bit of a cushion and are focusing on health rather than weight. Just sayin. XXOO
  • I hear you :) As I mentioned to Colleen, I would be happy with losing 20 pounds too. I know it's too much in a short amount of time, but when I did Weight Watchers a couple of years ago, I lost 40 pounds in a little over 4 months and have kept it off. So, just trying to give myself that extra push. But ultimately, I know that any weight I lose will be better than nothing. We'll see what happens!

    Good luck at your goal...that is alot for such a short time. I myself have lost 50 but it has taken a year. I know many people can do it though....just remember to try to stick with things that you can stay committed to even after the reunion.

  • Yes, I agree, it is a lofty goal. But if I don't put it out there, I won't hold myself as accountable as if I was doing it by myself. To be honest, I'd be happy with losing 20 pounds in 20 weeks!
