Hi everyone!  I have an update for you – I’ve actually already accomplished one of my New Year’s Resolutions!  Wow, I think this is a first for me, to actually accomplish one of my new year’s resolutions so early.

So, what did I do?  I started my third business, Gren X which is great tasting green tea.  Most people would love to have the benefits of green tea, like the antioxidants, weight loss, anti-aging, improved mental capacity, improved cardiovascular and metabolic health and so much more.  But, most people do not like the bitter taste of green tea.  So, enter Gren X.  Gren X makes GreenTeaHP which is a proprietary blend of green tea with enhanced benefits.  The GreenTeaHP is served in a  ”pixie”,  in a great variety of flavors.  You empty the pixie into a bottle of water, shake and enjoy!

GrenX is a multi-level marketing company, commonly referred to as MLM or network marketing.   Some people have a bad impression about network marketing or MLM groups, and I respect everyone’s opinion.  However, this is one of those “right” choices for me.

Why did I decide to join another MLM company?  Well, the decision was pretty easy, but it was based on a lot of factors.

1. I enjoyed the product.  I tried some of the GreenTeaHP before I started looking into the business aspect of it, and I truly liked the taste.  There are some flavors that are just not for me, but that’s true of anything.  I think it’s VERY important, actually critical, that you enjoy the product you are referring because in order to be effective, you have to really use the product.
2. The monthly sales volume is manageable and my personal volume  is determined by my purchases, and any customer purchases.  This is important because it doesn’t mean I necessarily have to purchase that much every month to earn my commission.
3. I liked my sponsor – they were very generous with their time, answered all my questions, and really left the decision up to me.  No pressure, no hard feelings, just support and guidance.  The customer service from the company was outstanding too – they had a conference call with me to ensure I understood everything before starting.

There are many other reasons, besides these, that helped me make my decision.  Another reason was that the company is still pretty new, and I am getting in on the ground floor, so the potential to make some money is good, really good.  The company is stable, debt free and believes in slow growth.  And lastly, and actually the most important reason, is my girls.

There are only so many hours in the week that I can work as a marketing virtual assistant, and “charge out” to clients.  Basically, the only way I can get a raise, is if I work more hours.  That really isn’t an option with two babies and all my other responsiblities.  By participating in a multi-level marketing company, I can make a residual income.  A residual income is earned when I sponsor someone else to start a GrenX business, and their customer’s and make purchases.  I then earn income on all their purchases too.

So, as you can see, the money can start to add up, depending on how large my group gets.  The more people that buy GreenTeaHP (either as a customer or distributor) the more money I make.  This allows me to earn extra money, without having to work a lot of extra hours.  Of course, I am still available for questions and such, but I am not the only one “selling” the product.  The most successful multi-level marketing groups have a lot of people doing a little bit over an extended period of time, rather than a small amount of people doing a lot over time.  This is a great definition of working smarter and not harder.

Now, let me clarify something, I am not looking to recruit all my followers.  Although I would love to have you all join my GrenX or greeting card team, that’s not the intention of this post.    I simply want to provide the information to any WAHM who are looking for a way to earn money from home.  I encourage you to take a look at a form of multi-level marketing or direct sales as an option.  It can be a great way for you to earn a residual income by building a team.

When it comes to working from home, often times you will find people looking into a business with a Direct Sales Company. If you are like me, you have tried working out in the corporate and/or retail world…but found that it doesn’t suit you or your family’s needs.

Lets take a look at all of the benefits of joining a Direct Sales Company.

1. Be Your Own Boss – As a consultant, you are basically your own boss. You determine how much or how little you want to work. With that being said, you do represent a particular company and will still have to follow their rules and guidelines.

2. Save Money On Childcare – If you are a parent, a lot of times when you work outside your home, 50-75% of your paycheck is spent on daycare expenses.

3. Flexible Working Schedule – You can set up a flexible working schedule to suit your family’s needs. When you need off work for vacation, sick or family time, it’s much easier to do when you work from home.

4. Business Expenses – By joining a Direct Sales company, you will have manageable business expenses such as: adding new products to your demonstration kits and paper business supplies. If you worked outside your home, you would have transportation, clothing, food and other miscellaneous expenses. In my experience, working from home is a lot cheaper than working in the corporate or retail world.

5. Product Inventory – These days, the majority of companies do not require that you stock products in your own home. You can place your customer’s order and have it shipped directly from the company, to your customer’s front door.

6. Business Training – You will find that most companies offer free or very low cost training to their consultants. This training is a valuable business education that you can certainly afford.

7. Company Rewards – Every company has a different way of rewarding it’s sales force members. You are usually rewarded with free products and/or money bonuses when you meet certain sales or team building goals. When doing my research, I saw such things as: trips to tropical destinations, diamond jewelry, electronics and yes…even cars!

8. Little to No Stress – In my personal experience, I find it a lot less stressful to work from home in Direct Sales compared to working out in the corporate world. I don’t have to commute, deal with gossip in the workplace, nor have to meet crunch time deadlines.

If you are looking to work from home, I think you should consider joining a Direct Sales Company. For those of you who have families, this might be your smartest career move as the benefits can make life much easier for you and your family.
