My New Year’s Resolution

There’s only 2 days left in 2009 – a time for reflection. Everyone is enjoying the holidays, but at the same time, they are thinking about all the things they did in the past year. Most of the memories are filled with the “woulda, shoulda, coulda’s”. Me included!
So, I am taking a new approach this year and trying to focus on all the things I DID accomplish and what I have planned for 2010.
One small reflection note, though. I have admittedly neglected to follow the purpose of this blog which was to help other people find work at home opportunities. I had great blog posts planned that fell second to my girls, my family, my home and my business. No excuses for 2010 though.
So, what did I accomplish in 2009?
- I had my second beautiful baby girl in May!
- I started my own marketing business
- I started this blog
- I started a second business – greeting cards
- I invested in myself and completed some training courses
- I became and avid reader and internet marketing/social media student
- I became addicted to Twitter
Not too shabby, I think! That’s a pretty good sized list in addition to taking care of my oldest daughter who is now 20 months, my husband, my house, spending time with my family…you get the picture! I’m sure it’s a lot like your own story.
So what do I have planned for 2010?
- Launch my marketing business website with new services
- Launch my greeting card website
- Launch a third business (still in the works, but should have more details next month)
- Record videos for my business (OK, this is a big one. For sure you will hear my voice, but I don’t know if I can get in front of the camera. I am working on that one!)
- Continue to learn about internet marketing and social media
- Continue to invest in my personal growth by taking training courses to help me expand my marketing services
- Follow through with the purpose of this blog to help others find work at home opportunities
- And most importantly, be “in the moment” with my girls. The best gift that I can give them is my time and undivided attention. They deserve that and so much more. I am trying hard not to stress about the house (it will always be a mess), ease up on the laundry (the minute I fold the laundry, it’s dirty again anyway) and learning how to make time for myself. These could be the biggest challenges of 2010!
Seriously.
How about you? What do you have planned for 2010? Have you shared your new year’s resolutions yet? I just did – on purpose. Now I have some accountability for my actions. Next year at this time, I will have to report on my accomplishments. I hope I can go through the list and add a few more!
Happy New Year – may 2010 be your best year yet!
